Deep tissue

Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic technique that targets the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues using slow, firm pressure. It’s designed to treat chronic pain, muscular tension, and structural imbalances—making it especially valuable for athletes, active individuals, or clients recovering from injury.

What It Involves

  • Slow, deep strokes and sustained pressure

  • Focus on fascia, tendons, and muscle knots

  • Often used to treat sports injuries, postural dysfunction, and chronic pain conditions like sciatica or fibromyalgia

Unlike Swedish massage, which emphasizes relaxation, deep tissue massage is more intense and therapeutic.

What to Expect During a Session

  • Begins with a consultation to identify problem areas

  • Therapist warms up tissue with lighter strokes

  • Applies deep kneading and friction using fingers, knuckles, elbows, or tools

  • May focus on one area (e.g., shoulders, back) or the whole body

  • Sessions typically last 60–90 minutes

Some soreness afterward is normal, and using heat or cold packs can help
